Erika Levet, LPC, CCTP, NCC

Welcome! I am Erika Levet, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist (CCTP). With nine years of experience in the mental health field, I have worked in schools and federally qualified health clinics before branching out on my own, providing care to individuals from diverse backgrounds, ages, and wide range of mental health needs.

I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, and am trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, and parts work to help clients process difficult experiences, build resilience, and reclaim their lives. My approach is client-centered and integrative, drawing from evidence-based practices to support healing and personal growth. It’s okay if you’re new to therapy and you’re not sure what any of that is! I will work with you on understanding the therapy process once we start.

Currently, I am pursuing my doctorate with a research focus on homelessness, further deepening my understanding of systemic barriers to mental health and well-being. My passion lies in creating a safe, compassionate space where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported in their journey toward healing.

As a white cisgender woman, I recognize the privileges that come with my identity, and I am committed to doing the ongoing work of listening, learning, and showing up with cultural humility. I strive to create a space where LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC clients feel seen, respected, and safe to show up as their full selves. Your identity, your lived experiences, and your truth are not just welcomed here, they are honored. My practice is rooted in empathy, anti-oppression, and the belief that healing should never require you to shrink or hide who you are.

At Atlas Counseling Practice, I am committed to helping children, adults, and families navigate anxiety, trauma, ADHD, OCD, depression, and more. If you’re looking for a therapist who truly listens and tailors treatment to your unique needs, I would love to work with you.

HUEY [volunteer therapy dog in training]

Huey is a 3-year-old Golden Retriever who absolutely adores his dog sisters. He lives for a good game of fetch, long walks in new places, and “reading the newspaper” along Louisiana’s swampy trails.

Huey lights up around people, especially children, and has a natural gift for making folks feel seen and comforted. When his senior dog sister was at LSU Vet, Huey insisted on sitting beside strangers just to offer them love while they waited on their own fur babies. He’s incredibly sweet, deeply affectionate, and it’s nearly impossible not fall for a good pet on his head or chest when he’s around.

He’s currently in training to become a future therapy dog, and he can’t wait to share his heart wherever it’s needed most.

GEORGIA [volunteer therapy dog in training]

Georgia is a 6-month-old Golden Retriever with a heart full of love and a gentle soul. She has a natural gift for making friends, whether it’s with adults, children, or other animals. She absolutely lights up when someone stops to give her a pet or say hello. She especially lights up when she hears children. She’s a little shadow, following her big brother around the yard and tumbling after him in play, always ready for a treat or a cuddle.

Though she’s a bit more laid-back than her energetic brother, she still enjoys daily walks by the swamp, taking her time to “read the newspaper” with every sniff along the path. Her sweet nature, eagerness to please, and calm energy make her a perfect fit for a future therapy dog in training.
