Frequently Asked Questions
-
Don’t worry! You won’t be jumping right into trauma or anything. Our first session is a chance to let me get to know you. I’ll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any relevant background that helps me understand your experiences. You’re not required to share anything you’re not willing to share. You’re welcome to share at your own pace. There’s no pressure.
We will also talk about how therapy works, what you can expect from me, and answer any lingering questions you might have. Most importantly, it’s a space for you to decide if you feel comfortable moving forward.

Yes! The you can review the insurances that I accept on my website under Services & Fees tab.

If you or your child are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, or simply not like yourselves, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to have support.

I work with teens and adults, ages 13+. My practice has a special focus on supporting women and children through life transitions, anxiety, trauma, depression, communication, boundary setting, etc.

Each session is shaped by your needs. Sometimes we talk through specific challenges, sometimes we explore deeper patterns. We might use conversation, grounding tools, our deep healing using trauma-informed modalities such as EMDR, Brainspotting, and/or parts work. I use several modalities and incorporate into session what is best for each individual client.
-
Sessions are typically between 40 and 55 minutes long, depending on the client and their needs. Most clients begin weekly, but we can adjust frequency as needed based on your goals and schedule.
-
I ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged full fee. However, if you are able to reschedule your session within the same day or weeks schedule, there will be no cancellation fee.
-
Absolutely. Your privacy is deeply important to me. What we discuss in therapy stays between us, with a few legal exceptions (like safety concerns or abuse, which I am mandated to report). We’ll review confidentially in more detail during our sessions.
-
Definitely. The connection between client and therapist matters. If at any point it doesn’t feel right, I’ll support you in finding someone who might be a better match. No hard feelings.
-
Yes, and I honor the courage it takes to try again. Therapy should feel safe, not judgmental. We’ll go slowly and I’ll meet you wherever you are, without pressure or expectations.
-
That’s okay! You don’t need to have the “right” words. Feeling emotional or unsure is a normal part of the process, and we’ll create space for whatever comes up.

I provide ESA evaluations only for established clients who demonstrate a clinically significant need. An ESA evaluation is a thoughtful process that requires more than a single session or three and does not begin automatically with therapy. In addition to a therapeutic evaluation, I may require documentation of regular veterinary care, and in some cases, training recommendations may be part of the process. ESA letters are not guaranteed and are only provided when clinically appropriate and ethically justified.
